
What does ASDA Travel Insurance Cover?
ASDA Travel Insurance is designed to give you the cover you need at the right price. Here’s how it works.

The information below may help you choose your cover. It describes some of the differences between our cover levels and Single Trip or Annual Multi-trip policies.
What you always get
There are some benefits you will always need. ASDA Travel Insurance always gives you:
- Unlimited Medical Expenses
- Cover if your wallet or bags are lost or stolen
- A 24/7 emergency number with English speaking staff
- Up to £2 million to cover any legal costs abroad
- Free cover for kids
Standard cover
This option provides the following levels of cover if:
- You have to cancel or cut short your holiday - up to £1,500 per person
- Your personal belongings are lost, damaged or stolen - up to £1,500 per person
- Your cash or credit cards are lost or stolen - up to £200 per person
- If you make a claim, you have to pay the first £75 per person of a claim under each section of the policy. So if you make a claim for personal belongings and money, you have to pay the first £150 per person.
Superior Cover
Superior cover offers higher benefits and lower excesses, plus cover for scheduled airline failure, missed departure, pet care fees and other benefits. This option provides higher levels of cover if:
- You have to cancel or cut short your holiday - up to £5,000 per person
- Your personal belongings are lost, damaged or stolen - up to £2,000 per person
- Your cash or credit cards are lost or stolen - up to £500 per person
- If you make a claim, you have to pay the first £50 per person of a claim, under each section of the policy. So if you make a claim for personal belongings and money, you have to pay the first £50 per person.
Value Cover
This product offers the same range of benefits as Standard with lower benefit amounts, a higher excess and no cover for any pre-existing medical conditions. This means that we are able to offer cover at a lower price.
This option provides lower levels of cover if:
- You have to cancel or cut short your holiday - up to £500 per person
- Your personal belongings are lost, damaged or stolen - up to £500 per person
- Your cash or credit cards are lost or stolen - up to £100 per person
- If you make a claim, you have to pay the first £100 per person of a claim. So if you make a claim for personal belongings and money, you have to pay the first £200 per person.
Your Holiday destination
You will need to choose a policy that covers where you’re going on Holiday. Check below if your destination is included in our definition of Europe, if not you will need Worldwide cover.
Europe
By Europe we mean
Andorra, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia- Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Channel Islands Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Eire, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Madeira, Mediterranean Islands (including Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza; Corsica; Sardinia; Sicily; Malta, Gozo; Crete, Rhodes and other Greek Islands; Northern and Southern Cyprus), Moldova, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation (West of Urals), Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom (annual multi-trip only).
If all or part of your holiday is not in a country listed above, you must choose Worldwide cover. Please note that if you are travelling to Albania you will need to buy Worldwide cover
Worldwide
If all or part of your holiday is in a country not listed in our definition of Europe above, then you will need to buy Worldwide cover.
Both European and Worldwide cover is available on single trip and annual multi-trip policies; with or without the Winter Sports extension.
